Owls for Owies is a nonprofit organization founded in honor of Alina Ellis. Alina was a modern-day Mary Poppins whose creative mind and generous spirit nurtured children's imaginations and encouraged care for others.
She believed puddles were meant for splashing, woods were meant for exploring, and kindness was meant for all. Alina originated Owls for Owies as a part of her childcare business, the Hoot House.
We continue the program today in her honor.
Owls for Owies donates to the following recipient hospitals to children in need of comfort at the following partner hospitals:
St. Lukes Aurora - Emergency Room
Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin - Departments in need of donations
St. Joseph’s Hospital, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin - Emergency Room
TMJ4, Channel 4 NBC news aired a short feature on Alina and Herb Ellis and Owls for Owies last night. Some of Alina's children participated in the story and shared what Alina and Owls for Owies means to them.
"It just really helps bring her sprit to the other people's lives by bringing one little stuffed animal to them."
